A cut-out dress is not for everyone
From supermodel Miranda Kerr to actress Selena Gomez, singer Jennifer Lopez and Katy Perry; they’ve all at some point flaunted their enviable bods in a cut-out dress. While the silhouette definitely ups your sex appeal, it is not for everyone.
- One of the most important factors to keep in mind, is to highlight only one area of your body. Cut-outs all over are a no-no.

Either show skin on your midriff, back, neck or cleavage.
- When going for a cut-out, it’s best to stick to solid colours. Black, deep red, emerald green all look stunning. Avoid dresses with prints or embellishments as they might look like there’s too much going on.
- Don’t blindly opt for a cut-out dress. Ensure that it suits your figure and personality; that you have the confidence to pull it off.
- Go easy on the accessories. The beauty in this design is the simple yet stylish statement it makes. Opt for chandelier or drop earrings and a cocktail ring. Don’t clutter yourself with too much jewellery.
